12" - 15" Synthetic T-bones

This pattern, pulled from Blane's book, is consuming a lot of my bench time this off-season. It's becoming a whole thing. The second example here, with the black-laced pectoral fins, is 18" long with an amazing profile, but it is too heavy for even a 12 weight. It will make for good wall mounted shop art if I ever hang an actual shingle I guess. Blane says he can tie these into the 20" range and cast them...I've picked up a dubbing brush table and will see if custom brushes make a difference.
The slightly shorter (but still freakin' HUGE) 12" - 15" versions of these flies are only a little heavier than a wet bucktail changer. Castable, in other words, if you are determined and have the right gear. They have an incredibly thick profile and will shed water with a good shake. These are 100% synthetic except for the pectoral fins: super long (fake) yak fur in the tail, magnum barred Flashabou, straight and curly Big Fly Fiber, some Chocklett's Body Tubing for structure, and a Sculpting Flash Fiber or Ultra Brush Fluffhead. They are true 3 segment T-bones with two 40mm Big Game Shanks ahead of a 6/0 Partridge Predator hook
