6" - 10" Bucktail T-bone

Another Chocklett design, an early and very successful pattern that adapts to all kinds of materials. This is a 3 segment bucktail and body tubing build with a long saddle tail and small body tubing head. They can get long, and like the bucktail game changer, they will hold a little water and get heavy. If you have the stick and skill to throw them, you can't argue with the results though. This pattern delivers that darting "show them your whole profile" action that can trigger an eat, and puts the hook mid-body to take advantage of that.
The two flies pictured here were my first T-bones, tied about 4 years ago. They are about 8" long, weigh around 9 grams, and are tied with a 2/0 Gamakatsu B10S. These days I up the hook size to 4/0, and tie them in 3 size ranges, with a slightly slimmer and lighter profile.
